Together in Concert: Jim Scott & James Durst
For more than three decades, composer/guitarist/singer/activist JIM SCOTT has made it his business to create and perform music that celebrates peace, justice and the earth. His songs, poetry and short stories address our common concerns with insight and gentle wit.
For all his varied professional background—including tenure with the Paul Winter Consort—it is Jim’s lyrical songs that remain his most memorable offering. He transforms his audience into an intimate gathering with a guitar skill and disarming presence that inspires and uplifts.
Quietly traversing the planet as a touring artist since 1965, JAMES DURST has performed for rapt audiences of every age in all 50 states and more than 200 cities in 45 countries, and most recently, numerous times in India and Israel. Drawing from a rich and ever-evolving repertoire of distinctive songs both original and gathered in some two dozen languages, his songs reflect a global perspective and underscore the interconnectedness we share with all of life. James engages each disparate audience in a participatory journey condensed from his travels, bringing us closer to our world and to each other.
Together, the two performers come to Floyd, thinking globally, acting vocally, and celebrating Earth Day in the most authentic manner possible.
