I have been doing research on my husbands grandmother Agnes Bryant and have hit a brick wall. Know she was born in 1898 in Galax, married Martin Elder when living in Jacksonville, Florida. They lived in Atlanta until she contracted TB and she went to a private sanatarium in Ashville, North Carolina where she died in 1923. My problem is the only census record of her is 1910 with a "May" bryant being listed as parent. She had a brother Cornelius and sister Dora. Would appreciate any information I can obtain. Thank you . I am looking for any information about my grandpa's mom's side of the family as well as my grandma's side of the family. Both families lived in Carroll and Floyd Counties. They are the Dalton's, Mitchell's, Montgomery's, Reese's, and the Phillips. I know that my grandpa Dalton's mama's name was Colonial Reese Dalton. Her husband was Henry Dalton. On my grandma Dalton's side I know that her daddy was Thomas Wyatt Mitchell, her mama was Maudie Montgomery Mitchell. She died when my grandma was only about 3 months old. My great grandpa re-married. I do remember my grandma saying that her grandpa Montgomery served on the jury of the famous Allan Murder trial in Carroll Co., VA. I think she said that his name was John Montgomery and that his wife was Sarah Phillips Montgomery. If anyone can help me please contact me. I am looking for information regarding my grandfather's family. His name was Warren Bobbin Saunders. He was born May 12, 1912 in WV. He had a sister named Hazel Saunders. His mother (name unknown) dropped both children in Floyd County when they were very small. Warren was taken in by John and Idabelle Smith who lived in Floyd.
